Box Score HAVERFORD, PA - The College at Florham Devils were knocked off by Haverford, 14-6, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 4-5.
FDU got on the board first with 10:55 left in the first quarter when sophomore midfielder
Jake Higgins found the back of the cage. Haverford then scored the next three goals before the Devils cut it to 3-2 with 2:28 left in the first on a goal by senior attack
Brian Goodwine. Haverford again scored three in a row to grab a 6-2 advantage with 8:33 remaining in the second quarter but senior attack
Adam Koontz made it 6-3 with 4:30 left when he converted a feed from Higgins. Haverford scored the last goal of the first half to take a 7-3 lead into intermission.
Haverford came out hot to start the third quarter, scoring five consecutive goals to take a 12-3 lead with 5:35 to go in the third. FDU made a little run to get back into it, scoring three in a row on goals from Goodwine, Higgins and junior midfielder
Cory Weiss to cut it to 12-6 with 7:48 left in the game, but Haverford scored the final two goals to put the game away and earn the 14-6 decision.
Higgins finished with two goals and an assist while Goodwine also had two goals. Weiss tallied a goal and an assist. Sophomore goalkeeper
George Beck suffered the loss, making 11 saves.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, April 14, 2012, with their Freedom Conference opener at King's beginning at 1 pm.
