AUBURNDALE, FL - The College at Florham Devils battled back from a 5-0 deficit to beat Rowan, 8-6, on the final day of their Florida Spring Break Trip on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Devils improved to 5-3.
Rowan plated four in the bottom of the first inning and one in the second to jump out to a 5-0 lead. FDU scored two in the third on a two-run single by sophomore outfielder
Nick Core before tallying four more runs in the fourth to take a 6-5 lead thanks to a RBI single by senior outfielder
Matt Oliveto, a wild pitch, a RBI ground out by junior designated hitter
Matt Joiner and a RBI single from junior first baseman
Ryan Fandel. The Devils made it 8-5 in the top of the sixth inning on a RBI single by senior outfielder
Ryan Kalish and a Rowan error. The Profs cut it to 8-6 in the eighth inning but that was as close as they would get as FDU slammed the door and earned the win.
Oliveto finished 4-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI while junior shortstop

Brandan Adams each had three hits. Junior pitcher
FJ Luchetti started and picked up the win, going 7.2 innings and allowing six runs (five earned) on 10 hits while striking out seven. Junior pitcher
Chris Laudati tossed a perfect ninth inning to pick up the save.
The Devils return to action on Sunday, March 20, 2011, when they open up their Freedom Conference schedule with a doubleheader at King's beginning at 1 pm.
