Madison, N.J. (June 24)- As announced from the College of Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday afternoon, The FDU-Florham Devils Men's & Women's Track & Field program saw two of their student-athletes earn CSC Academic All-District team this year.
On the women's side, Bianca Burke (Bridgewater, NJ) stood tall as a standout representative, while Nashawn Presley (Irvington, NJ) held strong for the men.
With a 3.82 cumulative GPA this semester, criminology major Burke demonstrated excellence both on and off the track. Specializing in the 200m and 400m dashes — with an occasional appearance in the 60m — she blazed her way into the record books during both seasons. This year alone, Burke set new school records in every event she competed in and capped off her remarkable year by claiming the ECAC Outdoor Championship title in the 400m with a winning time of 1:00.9. Regionally, she ranks 17th in the 400m (59.47) and 26th in the 200m (26.47), placing her among the top 50 sprinters in the region.
Accounting major Presley also shined in both the classroom and on the track, finishing the semester with a 3.58 cumulative GPA. Competing in both indoor and outdoor seasons, he focused on the 60m and 200m dashes. At the MAC Indoor Championships, Presley placed 16th overall in the 60m dash with a time of 7.19 seconds, which earned him the 42nd-best time in the region for the season.
