Madison, N.J. (May 6th)- The FDU-Florham men's tennis team clinched a bid into the ECAC Championship game by going 9-8 overall and a 3-3 record in the MAC Freedom. They will take on Johnson &Â Wales-Charlotte at home on Saturday, May 10
th at 11:00 am, and hope to win their first ever ECAC men's tennis title.

This will be the first time that these two programs have ever faced off, so the Devils will look to take the 1-0 advantage over the Wildcats.

Scouting The Devils
FDU-Florham made their way to the championship game based on consistency from in and out of the MAC Freedom conference. The Devils started the season with two wins away from home against Brooklyn and Moravian. They kept the pace up, winning against Pratt and Manhattanville to overall be an even 4-4 out of conference. In the conference, they saw wins over DeSales 5-2 on April 9
th, Misericordia 6-1 on April 11
th, and King's 6-1 on April 16
th, which gave them a bid against the number-one seeded Stevens in the MAC Freedom playoffs. They sadly lost that match, but hope to rebound to win the ECAC championship.
FDU-Florham is led by its first-year head coach
David De Vries, who continued the Devils streak of making the MAC Freedom playoffs this season with five in a row.
The team is led by it's graduate student,
Matthew Emery (Howell, NJ), who won seven singles matches and 12 doubles matches this season. He especially performed in matches vs. Misericordia (6-3, 6-3) and King's (6-3, 6-4) in conference.
Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, NJ) won six singles and ten doubles matches this season, including dominant performances against DeSales (6-0, 6-1) and Rowan-Gloucester County (6-1, 6-3).
Junior,
Kelvin Liwag (Marlboro, NJ) won eight of his 16 singles matches and nine of his 16 doubles matches. He saw great performances this season against Brooklyn (6-2, 6-1) and Manhattanville (6-3, 6-1).He also reached his 50
th career win against Rowan-Gloucester (6-3, 6-3).
Nick Weglinski (Wayne, NJ) has stepped up for the Devils, earning victories in 11 singles matches and eight doubles matches. He was especially dominant in the MAC Freedom, winning four out of six matches against DeSales (6-2, 6-1), Misericordia (6-2, 6-3), King's (6-3, 7-6) and Arcadia (6-2, 6-0).
Jaden Andresen (Branford, Conn) in his senior season has delivered, triumphing in six of his 12 singles matches and six of his nine doubles matches. Signature moments for Andresen include a win against in town rivals Drew (8-4), and a tough fought victory over Baruch (3-6, 6-4, 10-4).
Chase Miller (Freehold, NJ) has also done well as a first-year, earning wins in 11 of his singles matches and eight of his doubles matches. Miller earned dominating wins over Brooklyn (6-0, 6-0) and Drew (8-0), while also performing well in conference with wins against DeSales, Misericordia, and King's.

Scouting The Wildcats
Johnson &Â Wales-Charlotte went an even .500 overall, going 6-6. Their season were defined by its streaks, going on several hot and cold ones this season. They started off the season rough, going 1-3 in their first four games, before rebounding with three straight wins. They then dropped three straight games, before winning two straight at the end of their regular season. Their season was perplexing, as at home they went 0-3, and away they went 2-3. However they dominated neutral site games, going 4-0 in them. They didn't play a game in-conference, as they are in the process of transitioning into the Coast 2 Coast conference next season.
The Wildcats are led by the first year head coach Taylor Lindsay, who previously worked as a graduate assistant under Berry for three years.
Johnson & Wales-Charlotte are led in wins by Maxwell Frederick, who went 8-5 overall this season, including going 5-3 in the four spot. Justin Wagner also saw success this season, going 6-6, while earning an above average winning percentage from the singles #2 spot, going 6-5. Sam Cicciarello and Hugo Cossais each went 4-8, with Cicciarello most playing from the singles #5 spot, and Cossais mostly playing in the singles #3 match. John Billinis most leads his team, going from singles #1, where he's faced some tough competition, and gone 3-8 from that area, while going 3-9 overall. Dylan Hight finalizes the regular six for the Wildcats, playing all of his matches in the singles #6 slot, going 3-5 overall in them. Fernando Esteban, Wilder Noyles, Michael Osornio, Vante Rodgers, and Caden Danzer have also seen match victories for Johnson and Wales-Charlotte.
