Tennis Sports Four Student-Athletes on CSC Academic All-District Team

Madison, N.J. (May 13)- As announced from the College of Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday afternoon, The FDU-Florham tennis programs saw four of their student-athletes earn CSC Academic All-District team this year.
 
Representing men's tennis this season was Matthew Emery (Howell, N.J) and Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, N.J.) , while women's tennis saw Giavana Caraccioli (Bound Brook, NJ) and Paula Vanegas (Guttenberg, NJ) receive the honor this season.
 
All four student-athletes earn this honor for the second time in their careers.
 
Emery, played in all 18 matches for FDU while maintaining his 3.99 as a communications major. Emery was the leader of the Devils' men's tennis team this year, competing as the Singles #1 and Doubles #1 alongside Duval all season. He contributed 21 wins in matches this season for FDU, including a 13-6 doubles record with Duval. He was named All-MAC Freedom Second Team this season and helped lead the tennis team to their fifth consecutive MAC Freedom tournament appearance and their first ECAC Outdoor Championship.
 
Duval, a sports management major, appeared in all 16 Singles matches and 17 doubles over the year as the Singles #2 and Doubles #1 alongside Emery and has garnered a 3.98 cumulative GPA. He brought in 18 wins this season which included a 7-9 singles record and a 13-6 doubles record with Emery. As an All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention Selection, he contributed by helping the team reach their fifth consecutive MAC Freedom tournament appearance and their first ECAC Outdoor Championship.
 
Caraccioli, played in 24 matches for the Devils this season while maintaining a 3.78 GPA as a Criminology and Psychology. She was played in Singles #3, 4, and 5 and Doubles #2 and 3 with numerous other teammates this season. The highlight of her year came in her Doubles match with Rachel Kappelmier against Brooklyn College in the beginning of the year, where they won by a 6-1 score.
 
Vanegas appeared in a total of 27 matches in the Singles #3 and Doubles #1 and 2 for FDU-Florham and has earned a 3.50 GPA as a Liberal Arts and Financial Mathematics major. She notched singles and doubles win against Brooklyn College to start the year.
