Hackettstown, NJ (April 29) – The Devils traveled to Centenary for their final game of the season. They unfortunately ended the season with a loss, as they were spun up by Centenary, 12-9.
Peter Longo (Cherry Hill, NJ) was one triple short of a cycle, as he went 3-4 with a single, double, and home run.
Parker Muratore (Branchburg, NJ) also had three hits, going 3-5 with 3 RBIs.
Aaron Santos (Bridgewater, NJ) capped off his senior season on a high note, going 3-5 with an RBI.
Centenary got on the board first from a double in the bottom of the first. No one scored in the second inning, but in the top of the third, FDU tied the game. Longo kicked things off with a double to left field.
Zach Ganca (Merrick, NY) singled down the middle to bring in Longo, and Santos doubles to left to score Ganca and tie the game at two-a-piece. doubled
The Cyclones pounced right back however, scoring on a single and then back-to-back home runs to take a 6-2 lead against FDU. The Devils attempted to chip away the lead in the top of the fourth.
Nicholas Colbert (Belmar, NJ) reached base from a hit by pitch, and advanced to second on a groundout. Long hit a single that scored Colbert, and he himself was driven in by a double from Muratore to take the game to a 6-4 lead to Centenary.
The Cyclones added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth, off a triple and a sacrifice fly to make it 9-4. FDU again tried to chip off the lead in the top of the sixth. Colbert crushed a home run into center field, and just two at bats later, Longo earned his third different type of hit as he pounded a home run into left field, and to limit Centenary's lead to 9-6.
Centenary scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth from a balk and sacrifice fly to expand their lead 11-7, but FDU bounced back in the top of the seventh.
John Rolli (Long Valley, NJ) walked, and made to second from a single by Colbert.
Mark Geist (Middlesex, NJ) singled to score Rolli. Longo walked, and Muratore hit a single to score both Colbert and Geist, and make the game 11-9.
The Cyclones scored another run in the bottom of the seventh to make it 12-9, and that would be the final score, as FDU dropped their final game of the season.
Liam Stemmler (Bayport, NY) started the game for FDU, and went for 2.1 innings while striking out two batters.

Alex DeSimone (Long Valley, NJ),
Colby Craig (Chester, NJ) and
Jake Stollar (Flemington, NJ) all pitched out the bullpen for the Devils.
