Madison, N.J. (April 2)- Four swimmers including
Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, NJ), Brynn Kelly (Pequannock, NJ), Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, NJ), and
Michael Bang (Succasunna, NJ) represented the FDU-Florham Men's and Women's Swimming team this season as they were named College of Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team this season.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes Men's and Women's Swimming honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District team, the student-athlete must have competed in 90% of the teams' total meets or while also being over a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
Fazzio, who posted a 3.70 cumulative GPA as a Nursing major, helped break the school record in the 200-medley relay on day three of the ECAC Championships with a collective time of 1:50.79. Her best personal performance this season came in the ECAC Championships when she clocked a 1:00.59 in the 100 fly.
Kelly, a psychology major focusing on mental health, helped clock a time of 6:31.12 in the 50 free as her best time of the season during the Ranger Invitational on December 6
th while maintaining a 3.91 cumulative GPA. Also during the Ranger Invitational, she recorded a season-best of 1:17.39 in the 100 fly.
Plank claimed a cumulative GPA of 3.73 during the 2024-25 season as a Psychology major. The junior was seen in the pool during the MAC Championships and swam for a time of 2:14.35 in the 200 back, claiming a place on the podium for eighth in the MAC Championships. She finished her season at the ECAC Championships with an effort in helping her team secure a new program record in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of 1:50.79.
Representing the men was Bang, as the Communications major finished his junior season with a 3.73 cumulative GPA. In the pool, he swam a personal best of 1:01.53 in the 100 breast while competing at the Ranger Invitational early in the season. During the MAC Championships, he was seen gliding through the pool during the 50 free, clocking a final time of 22.24.
