STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The FDU swim team opened their season with a trip to the College of Staten Island to compete against the Dolphins Saturday afternoon.
Devils Highlights
- The women's 200-yard medley relay team, comprised of seniors Magda Konopka and Lauren Stone, sophomore Olivia Case and first year Jillian Rhyshek, took home first place, finishing with a time of 1:55.59, which was .04 of a second in front of the Dolphins. Additionally, the women's 200-yard freestyle relay team, comprised of seniors Katelyn Plank and Jessica Mooney and sophomores Caitlyn Kramaritsch and Olivia Glenfield finished first as well.
- Konopka and Rhyshek also took home first place in other events, with Konopka finishing first in the women's 50-yard freestyle and Rhyshek taking first in the women's 100-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle.
- On the men's side, senior Michael Bang finished first on two separate events, those being the men's 50-yard freestyle and the men's 100-yard freestyle.
How it Happened
- Overall, the men's team lost, finishing with a total score of 43.
- The women's team bested CSI, finishing with a total score of 134.
