Annapolis, MD (March 1) – In day two of the 2025 ECAC Swimming Open Championships, the FDU-Florham Men's and Women's Swimming team saw five different Devils compete in the morning prelims and had its best finish of the day in the women's 200 medley relay during the B finals and even saw three broken program records in the pool.
FDU-Florham first event of the day was the 200 Medley Relay which saw
Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, N.J.), Lauren Stone (Middletown, NJ), Magda Konopka (Paramus, NJ), and
Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, NJ) jump in pool during the B Final for a combined time of 1:50.79 for 10
th overall and a new school record.
The first individual event of day two was the 100 fly as Fazzio represented the women with a time of 1:00.59 for 33
rd overall. Her time in the pool broke the previous school record of 1:00.86. On the men's side of the event,
Davide Mezzoli (Pompton Lakes, NJ) clocked a time of 55.40 for 54
th overall.
The lone Devil in the 100 breast for both teams was Konopka, who finished for a time of 1:09.90 and a placement of 31
st overall. Her performance also broke a school record.
Plank entered the 100 back and came out of the water with a time 1:00.87 , which gave her a placement of 29
th. Mezzoli also competed in the men's side of the event and took 36
th overall (58.38).
The women's team finished day two with 32 points to be 14
th out of 22 teams.
FDU-Florham looks to its final day of the ECAC Championships on Sunday, March 2 with prelims starting at 10am.
