Staten Island, NY (February 8)- The FDU-Florham Men's Track and Field team traveled to Staten Island to compete in the Big Apple Invitational, hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex and saw a number of Devils compete but only notched one podium finish.
Nathaniel Evely (Bogota, NJ) was the first to record a time for the Devils as he placed 28
th in the 200m, by crossing the line with 23.38 on the clock. Behind by just over a second was
Lucas Sorrentino (Staten Island, NY) as he participated in the 200m as well and took 44
th overall with a time of 24.59.
Jason Nonnenmacher ( Staten Island, NY) was the final Devil participating in the event, as he clocked a time of 28.13 for 56
th overall.
Two Devils were seen in the 400m event, and they resulted in just two placements off of each other.
Francisco Tanez ( West Orange, NJ) was the first FDU-Florham runner to cross the line and he captured a place of 42
nd overall (57.64).
Shane Breedlove (Richmond, Va.) was .24 seconds away from his teammate, taking 44
th overall with a time of 57.88.
The 800m only held one Devil athlete, in which
Norbert Martinez (Roxbury, NJ) took 27
th with a time of 2:22.85.
The first distance event saw two compete, including
Evan McGinnity who crossed the line for a time of 4:58.71 (27
th overall), and
Beckett Burcat ( Basking Ridge, NJ) who finished with a time of 5:17.65.
Emmanuel Torode (Roxbury, NJ) tried his legs in the 3000m, resulting in a sub-10-minute time (9:59.53) for 21
st place.
Luke Passarelli (Brick, NJ) took to the field as he jumped along in the Long Jump for a distance of 5.24m for 17
th place.
Senior
Joseph Teresi (Ocean Twp, NJ) handled the throwing event of the Shot Put for FDU-Florham as he marked a distance of 14.20m for a podium finish of 3
rd.
FDU-Florham will have the Widener Indoor Classic as their final regular season meet on Saturday, February 15 at 2:30pm.
