York, PA (February 13) – With the Devils who qualified during the regular season, The FDU-Florham Men's Swimming team took to Day 1 of the MAC Championships and saw two swimmers reach the finals of their events. As a team, FDU sits in 9
th out of 11 teams with a total of 54 points.
AJ Vicidomini (Howell, N.J.) earned a spot in the prelims of the 500 free and finished with a time of 5:10.71 which ended up being good enough for 18
th overall, pushing him to the finals of the event. The junior swam in the C Finals and dropped back two placements to finish 20
th in MAC even with subtracting two seconds off his first time (5:08.57).
Jackson Standridge (Warren, NJ) qualified in the 200 IM and touched the wall for a time of 2:15.98 (27
th overall), a time not fast enough to push him to the finals.
Michael Bang (Succasunna, NJ) touched the wall with a time of 22.63 during the 50 free prelims (19
th) and was able to take a second chance to improve his time in placement during the C finals. He rode the wave up two-placement to 17
th overall with a time of 22.24.
The lone relay event for the Devils on day 1 of the MAC Championships saw
Davide Mezzoli (Pompton Lakes, NJ), Standridge, Vicidomini, and Bang compete in the 200 Medley Relay and take 9th with a time of 1:45.28.
Day 2 events will include the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay. The individual events will have their preliminary rounds starting at 9:30am and the top 21 times from the morning session will advance to the finals session at 5:30pm. The relay teams will compete in the evening session.
