NEWTOWN, Pa. – Adrianna Goodwin, the FDU-Florham field hockey goalkeeper, was named the MAC Freedom field hockey Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this year for the week ending Oct. 12, the conference office announced Tuesday morning.
Goodwin, a junior from Toms River, N.J. helped the Devils to a 2-0 week as she notched her fourth shutout of the season with seven saves in a 1-0 win over Lancaster Bible on Oct. 8. Then on Oct. 10, she added three more stops in a 2-1 win over King's to open MAC Freedom play for FDU.
The junior keeper now leads the MAC Freedom in both saves with 98 and save percentage at .867. She is now the only field hockey student-athlete in the MAC Freedom to earn the conference's defensive player of the week honor three times.
Goodwin and the rest of the FDU field hockey squad return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 15 as the Devils host DeSales in another MAC Freedom contest. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
