Field Hockey Tops King's 2-1 in MAC Freedom Opener

WILKES BARRE, Pa. – The FDU-Florham field hockey team topped King's 2-1 Friday night in the Devils MAC Freedom opener behind Julianna Medina's two-goal game. 

DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
  • Medina tallied four points on two goals on the night. 
  • Mariana Lopez had two shots on goal and Katie Blair finished with one. 
  • Goalkeeper Adrianna Goodwin tallied three saves and allowed just one goal. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Devils got on the board at the 8:55 mark in the first period on an unassisted goal from Medina, her 11th of the season. 
  • Medina scored her second goal and what would eventually be the game-winner on a penalty stroke goal at the 22:24 mark in the second period. 
  • The Monarchs responded 90 seconds later with their only goal of the game but that was all they would respond with as Goodwin thwarted an attempt to tie with a save in the third period. 
GAME NOTES
  • Friday was Medina's third multi-goal game of the season. 
  • The win over the Monarchs was FDU's fourth straight win.
  • FDU's four-game win streak is the program's longest streak since 2022 when the Devils won five straight from Sept. 16 to Oct. 1. 
UP NEXT
FDU returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 15 as the Devils host DeSales in a MAC Freedom matchup. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
