Madison, NJ (January 17) – The FDU-Florham Men's Swimming Team saw numerous first-place finishes in their only home meet of the season against Stevenson on their senior day, but they lost a close battle by a score of 122-119.
AJ Vicidomini (Howell, N.J.) achieved victory in every solo event he entered. He won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:53.47, the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.33, and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:17.12.
Jackson Standridge (Warren, NJ) stood on the podium for all three solo events he was in. He finished second in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.70) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.74). He earned third in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:01.08.
Edward Danza (Jackson, N.J) also stood on the podium for every solo event that he placed in. He placed second in both the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.32) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:31.69). He finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.59.
Davide Mezzoli (Pompton Lakes, NJ) won first place in every solo event he entered in as well. He earned the gold in the 100-yard backstroke (57.34), the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.54), and the 100-yard butterfly (55.70).
Michael Bang (Succasunna, NJ) along with everyone else did well, earning two first places and one second place. He topped the podium in both the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.56), and the 100-yard freestyle (51.98). He earned silver in the 50-yard freestyle (23.12).
The Devils performed admirably in their relay event as well, as Mezzoli, Bang, Vicidomini, and Danza participated in the 200-yard freestyle relay and won first with a time of 1:37.45.
The Devils will go back on the road for their next meet to compete against Misericordia on January 25
th. The first events will start at 1:00 PM.
