Staten Island, NY (October 19) – The FDU-Florham men's swimming team traveled to the College of Staten Island for their first meet of the 2024-25 season and saw a lose against the host, 123-45, but was able to bounce back for their first win of the season against Mount Saint Mary, 86-54.
AJ Vicidomini (Howell, N.J.) came away with a second-place finish in the 1000 free with a time of 11:42.46 and collected another second-place finish in the 500 free (5:33.99).
Michael Bang (Roxbury, N.J.) took a second-place finish in the 50 free (22.65) and a first-place victory in the 100 free (51.55).
Jackson Standridge (Warren, NJ) notched a time of 1:12.11 in the 100 Breast for third place and a fifth-place finish in the 200 IM (2:25.71).
Edward Danza (Jackson, NJ) saw a time of 23.44 for a fourth-place finish in the 50 free and a fifth-place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:06.52).
First-year
Davide Mezzoli (Pompton Lakes, NJ) jumped in the pool for this first collegiate meet and claimed a first-place victory in the 200 free (1:56.33) and fourth-place finish in the 100 backstroke (57.57).
The Devils also fielded a 400-free relay team consisting of Mezzoli, Bang, Vicidomini, and Standridge. The quartet finished first with a total time of 3:38.58 which scored a second-place finish.
FDU-Florham will be in action next on November 2 when travel to Middle Atlantic opponent King's (PA) for a dual meet.
