Madison, N.J. (January 21) – The FDU-Florham men's swimming team capped of its dual meet schedule with a win against MAC foe King's (Pa.), 90-61 on Sunday afternoon.
James Dougherty (Kinnelon, N.J.) notched himself two individual wins on Sunday in both the 100 back and 200 IM. He clocked a 1:06.50 in the 100 back and a 2:03.72 in the 200 IM.
Dougherty was joined by
Michael Bang (Roxbury, N.J.) and
AJ Vicidomini (Howell, N.J) who both collected a pair of first-place finishes. Bang touched the wall first with a personal-best time in the 50 free (23.14) and finished first in the 100 breast (1:03.56) while Vicidomini placed first in the 200 free (1:56.91) and the 500 free (5:18.37).
Jackson Standridge (Warren, N.J.) earned himself a first-place finish in the meet when he clocked a 58.19 in the 100 free and placed second in the 1000 free with a time of 11:28.68.
Edward Danza got himself his first win of the season when he outraced the competition in the 100 fly with a time of 1:03.33. That time was also good for his first ever MAC qualifier. He also finished third among the field in the 100 free with a time of 1:11.44.
The Devils only fielded one relay team in today's meet but got the win in the 800 free relay when the quartet of Bang, Dougherty, Vicidomini and Standridge outraced King's and clocked a team time of 8:03.00.
FDU-Florham will now have a few weeks to prepare before heading to York, Pa. for the MAC Championship that will start on Thursday, February 15.
