Staten Island, NY (October 14) – The FDU-Florham men's swimming team (1-1) saw multiple Middle Atlantic Conference (Championship) qualifying times and split their season-opening tri-meet, defeating Mount Saint Mary, 83-55 but losing to the College of Staten Island, 167-37.
AJ Vicidomini (Howell, NJ) qualified for the MACs in the 500 free with a time of 5:17.40 that was good for a second-place finish at the tri-meet. He also placed first in the 1000 free with a finish of 11:20.32.
James Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ) qualified for the conference championship in two events during the meet. He clocked a time of 23.13 in the 50 free and a time of 58.61 in the 100 back which were both good for second place finishes on the day.
Michael Bang (Roxbury, NJ) also saw two good MAC qualifying times during his individual swims first in the 100 free (51.14) where he touched the wall third among the field and also in the 200 free (1:51.72) where he touched the wall second among the field.
Jackson Standridge (Warren, NJ) notched a conference championship qualifying time in the 100 breast with a time of 1:10.11 that finished third in the event. He also competed in the 200 IM that finished fourth with a time of 2:20.21.
The Devils also fielded a 200 free relay team consisting of Dougherty, Bang, Vicidomini, and Standridge. The quartet finished second with a total time of 1:37.06
FDU-Florham is back in action on Saturday, October 28 as they travel to square off with Western Connecticut at 12:00 pm.
