Madison, NJ (January 21) – The FDU-Florham men's swimming team fell just short during its regular-season finale against Western Connecticut, 92-78.
The Devils honored its two seniors
James Dougherty (Kinnelon, NJ) and
Jack Hulsart (Old Bridge, NJ) during the meet for their contributions to the FDU-Florham swim team in and out of the pool.
First year
Michael Bang (Roxbury, NJ) notched two individual wins on the day, with a season-best 10:52.49 in the 1000 free and a 5:13.28 in the 500 free. Bang also contributed to a first-place finish for the 200 free relay squad along with Dougherty, Hulsart and
AJ Vicidomini (Howell, NJ) which finished with a time of 1:37.42. Bang also finished third in the 200 free with a time of 1:55.66.
Dougherty notched an individual win in the 50 free (22.83) and a second-place finish in the 100 free (50.59), Vicidomini took first in the 100 back (1:02.70) and second 200 free with a season-best time of 2:00.92 while Hulsart touched the wall third in both the 100 fly (1:01.24) and the 200 free (2:02.29) which was a season best for him.
Jackson Standridge (Warren, NJ) collected three second-place finishes in the 1000 free with a season-best time of 11:16.19 and the 200 IM (2:19.50) and 100 breast (1:09.32).
Edward Danza secured a season-best time in the 100 fly with a time of 1:03.39 while finishing fourth and a third-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 1:08.40
Fairleigh Dickinson will head to York, PA for the MAC Championships starting February 9.
