YORK, PA (February 13, 2020)- FDU Men's and Women's Swimming competed in day 1 of the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom tournament at Graham Aquatic Center in York, PA on Thursday. The tournament, which started today, will be a four-day event ending on Sunday, February 16
th.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior
Eric Bang reached the finals in the 500 freestyle, coming in 7th place with a time of 4:45.77
- Freshman
Jimmy Dougherty competed in the 200 IM with a final time of 2:04.88
- The 200 Medley Relay team of freshmen
Jack Hulsart and
Justin Atkins along with sophomores
James Butcher and
Chris Kunka finished in the finals with a time of 1:49.68
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior
Molly Miller earned a berth in the 500 freestyle, finishing 6th with a time of 5:17.47
- Freshman
Liz Briles locked up a spot in the finals of the 50 freestyle and swam a time of 26.08
- In the 200 Medley Relay the team of freshmen
Emma Dougherty,
Paige Strangeway and
Emily Maciejewski and sophomore
Gianna Ritto swam a time of 2:08.44
NEXT UP
The Devils return to the pool tomorrow, with session one starting at 10 a.m. After the conclusion of the first session around noon, the teams will break before the second session at 4 p.m.
