MADISON, N.J. (January 6, 2018) - The FDU men's swim team edged out Lehman 102-98 Saturday afternoon.
After the 400-yard medley relay quartet of
Zach Sykes,
Justin Cole,
Michael Illick and
Estuardo Gonzalez opened with a second place time of 4:42.27, Sykes nabbed second in the 1,000 free. His time of 11:56.31 trailed teammate
Eric Bang, who was first in 10:33.11.
Junior
Bohdan Semak claimed first in the 200-free (1:55.63), the 100 free (50.97) while teaming with Bang, freshman
Josh Atkins and junior
Nicholas DiBenedetto in the first place 400-freestyle relay (3:27.91). DiBenedetto was third in the 200 free before winning the 200-IM (2:18.96).
Atkins was .29 seconds out of first, settling for second in 24.54. Illick grabbed in the 100-fly in 1:05.97 while Cole and
Juan Melendez went 3-4 in the 100-free. Cole touched in 1:02.5 while Melendez was six ticks behind him. The first year Atkins claimed first in the 100-back dominating the field by nine seconds.
Bang and Sykes also went 1-2 in the 500-free as Bang touched in 5:07.18. Cole closed the day in singles events with a strong second place time of 1:14.29 in the 100-breaststroke.
