RESULTS
MADISON, N.J. (November 19, 2016) - The FDU-Florham men and women's swim team dropped a tri-meet against Drew University and Elizabethtown College on Saturday.
The women's team fell to Elizabethtown by a score of 143-50 while the Rangers defeated FDU-Florham, 123-36. The men's team were defeated by Elizabethtown 138-63 and fell to Drew by a score of 135-59.
MEN'S RESULTS
The men enjoyed a successful day in the pool, garnering two Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) qualifying times in the meet.
Freshman
Zach Sykes' third place performance in the 1,000-yard freestyle clocked in a commanding time of 12:03.00 to qualify in the 1650-yard freestyle in the MAC Championships.
In similar fashion, junior
Jurgen Troka's 1:03.30 time in the 100-yard butterfly sends him to the MAC Championships in that event.
With no surprise, sophomore
Bohdan Semak dazzled in the pool with a pair of second place spots in the 200-freestyle at 1:52.47 and in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 50.83.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Junior
Samantha Irace continued her dominance in the pool by grabbing two second place times in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:47.07 and in the 1,000-yard freestyle, clocking in at 11:53.01.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, sophomore Mackenzie Doherty earned an impressive second place cut in the 100-yard breaststroke and grabbed a third place spot in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:07.34.
Another second place mark was earned from junior
Sarah Bennett in the 100-yard butterfly with a swift time of 1:04.35.
The Devils return to action next on Friday, Dec. 2-4 in the Drew Invitational.
