MADISON, N.J. -- The FDU-Florham swim teams were edged by Wilkes University on Sunday afternoon at Ferguson Recreation Center. The Devils men's team dropped their meet 92-84, while the women's team fell 97-79.
This was the final regular season meet of the season for both squads as the Devils look ahead to next weekend's Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.
Junior
Alexandra Duarte (Bayville, N.J.) had a strong afternoon for FDU-Florham by registering wins in the 200-yard freestyle (2:22.30) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.20). In the 200-yard medley, Duarte teamed up with
Samantha Irace (Oceanport, N.J.),
Sarah LeChard (East Windsor, N.J.), and
Sarah Bennett (Vineland, N.J.) to earn a victory at 2:12.50.
Additionally, Irace claimed the 1000-yard free (13:00.00), while Bennett earned a victory in the 100-yard fly (1:07.90.)
On the men's side,
David Nadler (Randolph, N.J.) clocked the top spot in the 100-yard free (54.60),
Stephen O'Brien (Washington, N.J.) won the 200-yard individual medley (2:19.50),
Connor Zero (Red Bank, N.J.) finished first in the 200-yard free (2:10.10) and
William Raynes (Basking Ridge, N.J.) claimed the the 1000-yard free (12:40.10).
The relay team of
Kevin Andrews (Sayreville, N.J.), O'Brien, Nadler, and Zero also won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:49.60.
Both Devils swim teams will compete in the MAC Championships February 12-14 in York, Pa.
