MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham men's swimming team (1-4, 1-0 MAC) dove into the water and swam their way to a 127-51 victory over the Wilkes University Colonels (0-3, 0-2 MAC) on Wednesday afternoon at the Ferguson Recreation Center.
The Devils opened up the afternoon in the pool with a win in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.91. Senior captain David Warren anchored the relay posting the best time of the race at 23.91.
Freshman Alexiy Stolyarov had a tremendous showing, placing first in all three of his races. In the 50-yard freestyle he posted a time of 23.21 and he followed that up with the top time in the 100-yard butterfly. Finally, Stolyarov closed out the afternoon by earning the top individual time for FDU-Florham in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Devils also got a large contribution from junior Stephen O'Brien, who was a key piece for FDU-Florham in the 200-yard medley relay win. O'Brien went on to place first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:20.91. The junior ended his day in the pool with a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, where he posted a time of 1:08.49.
Warren placed second in both the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke just behind O'Brien. Fellow senior captain David Nadler had a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle before posting an impressive time in the Devils' win in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Devils will head on the road on Saturday, October 31 for their next meet in Glenside, Pa. to face off against Arcadia University at 1 p.m.
