GLASSBORO, N.J. -- The FDU-Florham field hockey team was blanked by the Rowan University Profs 4-0 on Wednesday night.
The Devils (2-2) have now dropped back-to-back contests after winning their first to matches of the season. FDU-Florham was unable to slow the Profs (3-1) down as Rowan cruised to a 3-0 first-half lead. Sophomore
Jenna Pressler began the scoring for the home team by taking advantage of a breakaway opportunity 17:05 into play.
Fifteen minutes later, the Profs struck again when junior
Sam Browne followed her own shot and fired a goal into the back of the cage. Pressler added the third goal before junior
Johanna James tacked onto the lead by netting the Profs fourth goal of the night with 2:37 remaining in regulation.
Samantha Klimaszewski (Green Village, N.J./Madison) got the start in net and made five saves before junior
Amy Defnet (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) took over at intermission. Defnet limited the Profs to one goal, while making four saves. The Devils only managed four shots in the contest, as junior
Elizabeth Farnan (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City) led the team with two attempts.
Next up for the Devils:FDU-Florham retruns home to take on Ramapo College this Saturday, September 13th at 11 a.m.
