Box Score FLEMINGTON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils baseball team scored six runs in the fourth inning en route to an 8-5 victory over Delaware Valley College on Wednesday afternoon at Diamond Nation.

In the huge home fourth, 11 batters came to the plate for FDU-Florham (15-8, 11-4 Freedom), as the Devils totaled six runs on seven hits. The inning was highlighted by senior third baseman Austin Tomaszewicz's (Old Bridge, N.J./St. Joseph's Metuchen) two-run blast over the left field fence.

Senior right-hander Chris Roberts (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) tossed 7.1 innings, allowed two runs and struck out seven to improve to 5-2 on the season. The Devils currently sit atop the conference standings in a three-way tie with Misericordia University and DeSales University.

After two scoreless innings, FDU-Florham broke through in the bottom of the third. Tomaszewicz plated Devils catcher Kevin Sinclair (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep) with an RBI-triple and then came around to score on a groundout by Frankie Tassielli (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park).

Leading 2-0, the Devils broke the game open in the decisive fourth inning. With two men on, sophomore left fielder James Dertouzous (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) knocked an RBI-single to right field. Alex Geramita (Old Tappan, N.J./Don Bosco) followed with a run-scoring double. Two batters later, Tomaszewicz launched his first homer of the season. Senior second baseman John Bowe (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) tacked on another run with an RBI-single and FDU-Florham led 8-0 at the end of the fourth.

The Aggies broke into the scoring column with two runs in the top of the eighth. In the ninth, Delaware Valley freshman outfielder Kyle Wenger hit a three-run homer, however, Devils closer Bobby Bray (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) struck out the next batter to finalize the victory.
