Box Score MADISON, NJ - In their final regular season game before the Freedom Conference Tournament, the College at Florham Devils were defeated by Western Connecticut, 11-5, on Senior Day on Wednesday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 16-21 while the Colonials improved to 15-22.
The Colonials started the scoring in the top of the first inning with two runs before making it 4-0 in the top of the third. They then grabbed a 7-0 lead in the top of the fourth, an 8-0 advantage in the top of the sixth, and an 11-0 edge in the top of the eighth. FDU finally got on the board with five runs in the bottom of the eighth thanks to a two-run home run from junior second baseman
Nick Meoli, a Colonial error, a RBI single by junior designated hitter
John Bowe, and another Colonial error. The Devils had two on with one out in the bottom of the ninth but couldn't push across any more runs as Western Connecticut secured the win.

Brandan Adams finished the game 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored while senior outfielder
Nick Core also had two hits. Senior pitcher
Jake Hazen started the game and suffered the loss, tossing an inning while allowing two runs on four hits. Junior pitcher

Bobby Bray and
Ryan Thurnes all threw scoreless innings of relief.
The Devils return to action on Friday, May 3, 2013, in the Freedom Conference Tournament as third-seeded FDU takes on second-seeded DeSales in Quakertown, PA, beginning at 7:30 pm.
