Box Score 2 PURCHASE, NY - The College at Florham Devils were swept by Manhattanville, 3-1 and 3-2 (8), in a Freedom Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
With the sweep, the Devils are now 16-20 (11-10 Freedom) while the Valiants are 12-26 (9-12 Freedom).
GAME ONE - FDU scored their lone run of the game in the top of the first inning thanks to a RBI single from senior outfielder
Nick Core. Manhattanville got two in the bottom of the first and one in the bottom of the sixth to earn the 3-1 victory.

Peter Amerosi finished the game 2-for-3 while senior pitcher
Jeff Jacobs suffered the loss, tossing six innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out five.
GAME TWO - The Devils again got on the board first in the nightcap, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a Manhattanville error. The Valiants tied it at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth and the game remained tied through seven innings. In the top of the eighth, FDU grabbed a 2-1 advantage thanks to a RBI single by junior second baseman
John Bowe but the Valiants responed with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to pick up the sweep.

Brandan Adams went 2-for-4 in the second game while senior pitcher
Jake Hazen started and got a no-decision, throwing six innings and allowing one run on three hits while striking out six. Sophomore pitcher
Chris Wirth-Kenyon took the loss in relief, going and inning and allowing two runs on three hits.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at home for Senior Day against Western Connecticut beginning at 3:30 pm.
