Box Score MADISON, NJ - Junior first baseman Frank LaGuarina went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI while sophomore pitcher Bobby Bray came out of the bullpen to throw 3.2 scoreless innings as the College at Florham Devils knocked off Eastern by a score of 8-2 on Sunday afternoon in Freedom Conference action.

With the win, the Devils improved to 7-6 (4-1 Freedom) while the Eagles dropped to 5-7 (1-4 Freedom).

Eastern got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning before grabbing a 2-0 lead in the top of the second.  The Devils cut it to 2-1 in the bottom of the second on a RBI groundout by junior third baseman Austin Tomaszewicz.  FDU plated two more runs in the bottom of the third to take a 3-2 lead thanks to a RBI single by senior catcher Ricky Gathen and a bases loaded walk from junior designated hitter Ben Lyman.  LaGuarina gave the Devils some breathing room in the bottom of the sixth inning when he blasted a two-run home run to left field.  FDU made it 6-2 in the bottom of the seventh on a RBI fielder's choice by LaGuarina before adding two insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth on a two-run double from Tomaszewicz.

Junior second baseman Nick Meoli finished the game 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored while junior shortstop Brandan Adams went 1-for-3 with two runs scored.  Senior pitcher Jake Hazen started the game on the mound and went 4.1 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on nine hits while striking out four.  Bray came out of the bullpen to pick up the win, allowing only two hits and striking out two in his 3.2 innings of work.

The Devils return to action on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at home against Rutgers-Camden beginning at 3:30 pm.
