Box Score MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils were defeated by Baruch, 9-5, in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 9-11.
Baruch got on the board with a run in the top of the first inning before FDU tied it at 1-1 in the bottom of the second. Baruch made it 2-1 in the third and plated sixth in the fourth to grab an 8-1 lead. FDU got two back in their half of the fourth on a RBI ground out by junior outfielder
Peter Amerosi and a RBI single from senior shortstop
Steve Seminerio but the Bearcats took a 9-3 advantage with a run in the top of the fifth. The Devils couldn't push any more runs across until the ninth inning when junior outfielder
Nick Core belted a two-run home run but that's all they would get as Baruch picked up the win.
Sophomore third baseman
Frank LaGuarina finished the game 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored while Seminerio went 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI. Junior pitcher
Jake Hazen suffered the loss, tossing an inning of relief and allowing six runs (five earned) on three hits. Freshman pitcher
Andrew Hille three scoreless innings of relief, allowing only a walk while striking out two.
The Devils return to action on Friday, April 6, 2012, at Manhattanville beginning at 3:30 pm.
