Devils Thump Cross-Town Rival Drew, 15-0

Seminerio Breaks School Hit Record

Box Score MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils blanked cross-town rival Drew, 15-0, in the Battle of Madison Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.  In the game, senior shortstop Steve Seminerio went 1-for-5 but the one hit now makes him FDU's All-Time leader in career hits.  Seminerio now has 225 hits, breaking the previous mark set by FDU Hall of Famer Jim DaSilva.

With the win, the Devils improved to 19-15 while the Rangers dropped to 19-16.

FDU got the fun started in the top of the second inning on a RBI double from senior first baseman Ryan Fandel and a sacrifice fly by sophomore designated hitter John Bowe.  The Devils grabbed a 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth on a RBI groundout from junior outfielder Peter Amerosi before plating seven runs in the top of the sixth on a two-run double from Bowe, a RBI single by Amerosi, a RBI double by sophomore second baseman Brandan Adams, a RBI double from senior outfielder Matt Joiner, a RBI triple by junior outfielder Nick Core, and a passed ball that scored Core.  FDU tacked on four more in the top of the seventh to make it 14-0 thanks to a three-run double from Adams and a RBI double by Joiner.  The Devils scored their final run in the top of the eighth on a RBI single by Bowe.

Bowe finished the game 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and four RBI while Adams went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI.  Fandel was 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and a RBI while Joiner went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBI.  Freshman pitcher Andrew Hille earned the victory, tossing six innings and allowing no runs on five hits while striking out seven.
