Box Score SWOYERSVILLE, PA - Sophomore pitcher Chris Roberts tossed a complete game (seven innings) one-hit shutout to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 3-0 victory over #10 Misericordia in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday afternoon.  The two squads completed their three-game series that had been suspended due to rain.

With the win, the Devils improved to 12-13 (8-4 Freedom) while the Cougars dropped to 24-4 (10-2 Freedom).

FDU got on the board with two runs in the top of the third inning on a Misericordia error and a wild pitch.  The Devils added an insurance run in the top of the fifth thanks to a RBI hit-by-pitch from senior third baseman John Pieper.  Roberts took over from there, as he only allowed the one hit and two walks while striking out three in the game.

Junior outfielder Nick Core finished 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

The Devils return to action on Friday, April 13, 2012, at Eastern beginning at 3:30 pm.
