Box Score CAMDEN, NJ - The College at Florham Devils were defeated by Rutgers-Camden, 9-5, in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 7-9.
Camden started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning but FDU tied it at 1-1 in the top of the second on a RBI double from senior first baseman
Ryan Fandel. Camden then scored two in the bottom of the second, four in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the sixth to grab a 9-1 lead. FDU trimmed their deficit to 9-5 with four runs in the eighth thanks to a three-run triple by junior outfielder
Nick Core and a sacrifice fly by senior catcher
Nick Marcucci but that's as close as they would get as Rutgers-Camden earned the win.
Senior shortstop
Steve Seminerio finished the game 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored while sophomore second baseman
Brandan Adams went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Junior pitcher
Jake Hazen made his first start in two years due to injury and went two innings while allowing three unearned runs on three hits.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at home against Stockton beginning at 3:30 pm.
