SCRANTON, PA - The College at Florham Devils opened the 2011-12 season on Saturday afternoon by competing against Scranton and Cabrini held at Scranton.  The women's team knocked off Cabrini, 56-39, before falling to Scranton, 61-33, while the men's team dropped both to Cabrini, 53-32, and Scranton, 68-26.

With the split, the women are 1-1 on the season while the men are 0-2.

WOMEN - Freshmen Lauren Socienski and Mariane Herte led the Devils with a pair of second and third place finishes.  Socienski placed second in the 100 free (58.98) and third in the 100 back (1:15.55) while the Herte came in second in the 100 back (1:13.87) and third in the 200 free (2:20.15).  Senior Luci DiMaggio came in second in the 500 free (6:29.31) while senior Melanie Allen placed third in the 50 free (28.12).

MEN - Sophomore David Padilla paced the men with a second place finish in the 100 back (1:08.54) while freshman Jon Scott notched a third place finish in the 500 free (6:00.47).

The Devils return to action on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Hunter beginning at 6 pm.
