CENTER VALLEY, PA - The College at Florham Devils dropped both games of a doubleheader to DeSales on Saturday afternoon in Freedom Conference action, 6-5 and 15-12. The two wins gives DeSales the Freedom Conference Regular Season Championship while the Devils will be the second seed in the upcoming Freedom Conference Tournament.
With the losses, the Devils dropped to 28-8 (15-8 Freedom) while the Bulldogs improved to 24-15 (17-4 Freedom).
GAME ONE - DeSales jumped out to a 6-0 lead after five innings but the Devils came back with five runs in the top of the sixth inning on a RBI single by sophomore shortstop
Steve Seminerio (East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park), a RBI single by sophomore first baseman
Matt Joiner (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) and a three-run double by junior outfielder
Alex Sariyan (Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills). In the top of the seventh inning, the Devils had a runner on second with one out and runners on second and third with two outs but they could not plate the game-tying run.

Brandon Smith (Burlington, NJ/Pennington Prep) took the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits in six innings.
GAME TWO- FDU opened up the scoring with five runs in the top of the first inning thanks to a two-run single by senior third baseman
Joey Santillo (Budd Lake, NJ/Mt. Olive), a RBI single by senior designated hitter
Greg Geran (Brick, NJ/Red Bank Catholic), a RBI single by sophomore first baseman
Ryan Fandel (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and a sacrifice fly by senior outfielder
Mike Zangrillo (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan). The Bulldogs scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to cut it to 5-3 and after the Devils went up 6-3 in the top of the second, DeSales plated three more in the bottom of the second to tie it at 6-6. The Bulldogs then score one in the third, two in the fourth and two in the fifth to grab an 11-6 lead after five innings. FDU plated two in the top of the sixth on a two-run home run by Fandel to cut it to 11-8 but DeSales scored four in their half of the sixth to take a 15-8 advantage. Marc Hubbert (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Boro) drilled a two-run home run to pull the Devils to within 15-10. An error and a RBI single by junior outfielder
Dan Pregno (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley) made it 15-12 and FDU had the tying run at the plate with two outs but DeSales escaped the jam.
Fandel finished 3-for-4 with three RBI while Santillo and Geran were each 3-for-4 with two RBI. Sophomore pitcher
Matt Mizerek (Matawan, NJ/Matawan) suffered the loss, tossing 2.2 innings and allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits. Senior pitcher
Adam Garry (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Boro) tossed a perfect 0.2 innings and is now FDU's All-Time leader in career appearances.
The Devils return to action on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at home on Senior Day against cross-town rival Drew beginning at 3:30 pm.
