Devils Athletics Announces Exclusive 5-Year Partnership with Building Blocks Lacrosse

MADISON, N.J. – FDU-Florham and Director of Athletics Kristin Giotta are excited to announce an exclusive five-year agreement with Building Blocks Lacrosse that gives the organization the ability to use both Robert T. Shields and Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Fields for its travel teams to train and compete at.

BBL is a premier lacrosse organization in N.J. that provides elite player development at every stage of a young player's career. BBL develops players by challenging them against top competition from across the nation and supports their growth on and off the field. They focus on cultivating a winning culture, developing character, leadership, and helping players reach their top colleges.

"We are thrilled to enter a partnership with Building Blocks Lacrosse, one of the premier girls' and boys' lacrosse clubs in the northeast region," said Giotta. "BBL has been a loyal customer of FDU Athletics since 2022, so it makes sense to formalize an agreement that will benefit both them and FDU. We are looking forward to this partnership for years to come!"

Over the last year, Devils athletics has significantly invested in its athletics facilities, with its largest undertaking being the refurbishment and repair of the turf on Robert T. Shields Field in the summer of 2025. Then, beginning in the spring of 2026, Devils athletics began its rebranding of the Ferguson Rec Center. FDU continues its rebranding efforts later this summer with the addition on branding materials on the Robert T. Shields press box.

"We're thrilled to extend and deepen our longstanding partnership with FDU. This five-year agreement gives BBL a centrally located, best-in-class home for our travel teams to train and compete - an elite environment well suited for our nationally ranked programs," said President of BBL Andrew Hubschmann. "FDU's facilities offer multiple turf fields, including a lit field that lets us practice and play at any hour. We couldn't be more excited about what the next five years will bring for our players, families, and organization."

BBL is guaranteed 350 hours of field space per year for the next five years with the new agreement set to begin on July 1, 2026.
