Burke Breaks 400m Record in Last Day of MAC Outdoor Championships

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - The FDU outdoor track and field team finished up their final day at MAC Championships Saturday morning.
 
Devils Highlights
  • The men's 4x100m relay team, consisting of juniors Nashawn Presley and Nathaniel Evely, sophomore Alex Coles and first year Anthony Collier, started things off for the Devils. They finished sixth with a final time of 43.42, earning three points for the team's overall total. Shortly after, senior Bianca Burke ended her MAC career with a first-place finish in the 400m finals. She finished with a record-breaking time of 57.83, earning the full ten points for her team and crushing her old personal best time of 58.52. Additionally, she finished fifth in the 200m finals, earning four points with a final time of 26.02. Rounding out the track events, the men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of juniors Nathaniel Perrelli and Luke Passarelli and sophomores Evan McGinnity and Lucas Sorrentino, finished tenth in the finals with a time of 3.27.44.
  • In the shot put finals, sophomore Meghan Kreinberg continued her impressive postseason with a third place finish. She earned her team six points with a final distance of 12.80 meters. In the triple jump finals, first year Shane Bell placed 16th with a final distance of 12.73 meters. In the javelin finals, first year Melinda Valasek finished 14th with a final distance of 29.50 meters. Junior Irem Ucar also competed in the event, finishing 18th with a final distance of 26.76 meters. Finally, senior Tytus Toliver finished 24th in the shot put finals with a distance of 11.84 meters.
How it Happened
  • At the end of the Championships, Kreinberg finished in second place overall in the women's Heptathlon while Orio finished eighth overall. Kreinberg earned eight points for her team while Orio earned a point.
  • Overall, the women's team finished ninth with 37 points and the men's team finished 14th with 11 points.
