GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The FDU-Florham men's lacrosse team dropped a tightly contested game against Gwynedd Mercy University 8-6 on the road, Saturday afternoon.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
- Luke Hall led the Devils' offense on the day as he tallied four goals on 13 shots with eight on frame.
- Luke Dugan netted two goals and added two assists for four points on the day
- Christopher Scheublin picked up six ground balls.
- Goalkeeper Anthony Pieroni tallied 11 saves on the afternoon
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Griffins scored twice in the first period to take a 2-0 lead.
- With 2:13 left before the break, the Griffins found the back of the FDU net twice more to take a 4-0 lead. The Devils answered with back-to-back goals from Hall to cut the deficit in half heading into the break.
- In the third, the FDU offense came to life as Hall scored his third consecutive goal to make a 4-3 contest.
- Quickly after, Dugan netted his first goal of the game to knot it up at four apiece.
- Gwynedd's Landen Ciran scored twice in the third to give the Griffins a 6-4 lead, but Hall and Dugan scored back-to-back goals in the final 30 seconds of the period to tie the game at 6-6 heading into the fourth period.
- In the fourth, Ciran scored two more goals for the Griffins as Gwynedd downed FDU 8-6.
GAME NOTES
- This was Hall's first career hat trick.
- Saturday's game was Pieroni's second straight game with 11 saves.

FDU returns to action on Wednesday, March 11 as the Devils host the Mount Saint Mary Knights. First face-off is set for 7 p.m.
