Men's Lacrosse Tops William Peace 12-5 on the Road

RALEIGH, N.C. – The FDU-Florham men's lacrosse team traveled south for spring break and defeated William Peace 12-5 Thursday afternoon on the road. 
 
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
  • Joseph Carbo tallied four goals on the day to lead the FDU offense.
  • Vito Trapani netted three goals and added one assist for four points. 
  • Anthony DiGiacomo scored three times with two assists for a team-high five points. 
  • Luke Dugan and Justin Perillo each scored a goal.
  • Goalkeeper Antony Pieroni tallied eight saves. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Dugan netted the game's first goal in the first period on an assist from Perillo to give FDU a 1-0 lead. 
  • The Pacers answered with a goal from Brandon Goad with 8:28 remaining in the first. 
  • Carbo put the Devils back on top with his first goal of the day with 6:20 left to play and FDU took a 2-1 lead into the second period. 
  • In the second, DiGiacomo scored his first of the game on Perillo's second assist followed by Carbo's second goal to take a 5-1 lead. 
  • The Pacers scored twice more in the period, but the Devils held a 5-3 lead at the break. 
  • The Pacers cut the FDU lead to just one, 5-4, with a goal from Derrick Buchanan, but FDU took back a two-score lead with a goal from Trapani, and the Devils commanded a 6-4 lead heading to the final period. 
  • After DiGiacomo scored to open the fourth, the Pacers found the back of the FDU net on a shot from William English to make it a 7-5 contest. 
  • Following the Pacers's fifth goal, FDU scored five unanswered goals to earn the 12-5 win. 
GAME NOTES
  • This is the fifth time this season a Devils player has recorded four or more goals. 
  • Thursday's game was the first meeting between FDU and William Peace 
UP NEXT
The Devils return to action on Saturday, March 21 as FDU takes on Warren Wilson. First face-off is set for 2 p.m.
