Moore Leads Men's Hoops Past Lebanon Valley, 88-63

 
MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham men's basketball team won big over Lebanon Valley Wednesday night at home as the Devils put up 88 points behind a season-high 16-point performance from Micah Moore.
 
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
  • Moore led all scorers on the night with 16 points on 7-of-9 from the field including two from beyond the arc. 
  • Mac Creek and Chris Smith tallied 13 points each finishing 4-for-10 and 5-for-7 from the field, respectively. 
  • Frankie Denvir netted 12 points on 4-for-12 shooting and 2-for-5 from deep. 
  • Jorarei Bile recorded his first double-digit point effort of the season as he tallied 10 points on 4-of-5 from the field. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Devils trailed by eight early on as the Dutchmen led 14-6 at the 16:09 mark after a three-pointer from Jason Penn. 
  • FDU then went on a 19-11 run, capped off by a trey and a jay from Smith at the 8:25 and 7:50 marks to put the Devils ahead 27-25. 
  • The two squads traded blows, and the contest was knotted up at 29 all by the 6:22 mark, but FDU closed out the half with a buzzer-beating tip-in layup from Angel Smith to cap a 15-4 Devils run to give FDU a 44-33 lead heading to the break. 
  • The Dutchmen opened the second half with seven straight points by the 15:49 mark, LVC cut the FDU lead to just one point at 49-48. 
  • With 9:47 left in regulation, Lebanon Valley made it a one-score game once again after trailing by five, but two triples from Moore and free throws from Creek, put the Devils back in front by nine, 67-58 with 8:18 to go.
  • A Penn three-pointer once again put the Dutchmen within one score as FDU led 67-64 with 6:57 left to play, but the Devils closed out the game on a 16-2 run for their third MAC Freedom win of the season. 
GAME NOTES
  • Wednesday's game was just the second time the Devils had five players tally double digit points. 
  • The Devils tied their season-high in shots made in non-overtime games with 32 made baskets. 
  • This was just the fifth time FDU finished a game with a .500 or better shooting percentage (32-for-61)
  • Angel Smith recorded his first points of the season in Wednesday's win.
UP NEXT
FDU remains at home as the Devils host Misericordia for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 14. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
