Box Score GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The FDU-Florham men's soccer team officially defeated Gwynedd Mercy 5-1 Monday night after a lightning delay halted play two and a half weeks ago on Sept. 17.

DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS

• Jason Balbuena recorded his first career hat trick and finished with five shots on the day. 
• Diego Trujillo and Denti Dauti each tallied two assists
• Dauti led all shot takers with six on the day. 
• Ferid Zaku scored his first goal of the season.
• Victor Ciach made two saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• It only took until the 4' for the Devils to get on the board as Zaku found the back of the Griffins net on an assist from Trujillo. 
• Balbuena then scored the first of three in the 12' as the junior midfielder found the back of the net on Trujillo's second assist of the match to make it a 2-0 FDU lead. 
• In the 20', Dauti found Balbuena in the box who connected on his second goal of the day to make it a 3-0 Devils lead. FDU finished the first half with 18 shots, and the Devils took 3-0 lead into the break. 
• Balbuena's hot streak continued in the second half as Ramsey, N.J. native connected on his third goal of the match on Dauti's second assist of the day. 
• Santiago Ramirez scored his first career goal in the 77' for FDU's fifth goal of the match.

The Devils return to the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 20 as FDU hosts Cairn University. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. on Robert T. Shields Field.
