Trujillo Scores Twice as Men's Soccer Tops Kean, 3-1

MADISON, N.J. – After dropping their season opener on Friday night, the FDU-Florham Devils men's soccer team promptly bounced back Sunday night at home and secured their first win of the 2025 season behind senior captain Diego Trujillo's two goal performance.

Devils Highlights
  • Trujillo led the Devils with four shots on goal, finding the back of the net twice, both unassisted.
  • Genti Dauti scored the first goal of the game on a penalty shot.
  • Victor Ciach notched six saves.
How it Happened
  • The first half of action went scoreless as Kean led with nine shots, but with only three on frame. The Devils managed just three shots in the first half, but all three were stopped by the Cougars keeper Jaxon Mast.
  • The second half saw much of the game's fireworks as the FDU offense came alive in the second stanza. The Devils out shot the Cougars 11-8 as all three found the back of the Kean net.
  • Dauti tallied the first goal of the night on a penalty shot in the 55', but the Cougars quickly knotted the match at 1-1 with a goal from Santi Arroyave in the 61'.
  • Trujillo broke the tie in the 70' with a breakaway goal he snuck by the Kean keeper to put FDU on top 2-1.
  • One was not enough for the Bridgewater, N.J. native as Trujillo powered a free kick from 35 yards out to the back of the Cougars net to put Devils up 3-1 and seal FDU's first win of the season.
Game Notes
  • The Devils won 3-1 despite not taking a single corner kick
  • Sunday's win was FDU's second straight over Kean dating back to last season
