Arcadia Causes Men's Lacrosse to Slip in MAC Freedom Opener, 13-6

Glenside, PA (April 5)- In its first MAC Freedom contest of the 2025 season, The FDU-Florham Devils Men's Lacrosse Team traveled to Arcadia and found themselves within reach after the first quarter, but the Knights were able to pull away for the 13-6 win.

FDU-Florham (7-3, 0-1 MAC Freedom) saw Jarrett Dugenio (Bridgewater, NJ) post the highest numbers in the box score as he was responsible for two goals on nine shots, and picked up two groundballs.

Arcadia (7-4, 1-0 MAC Freedom) saw two players with a hat trick and more, but it was Kyle McLaughlin who shined with four goals.

The Devils were the ones to strike first as Dugenio notched the first goal at the 13:10 minute mark. Just a few short moments later, Arcadia added their first goal and a second within a minute of each other. The Knights reached the mark of four goals before FDU added their second from Zachary Van Zile (Kinnelon, NJ) with 32 seconds remaining in the quarter.

Arcadia kept the pressure high on the Devils as a fifth and sixth goal were added before the Devils once again tried to cut down the deficit with their third goal, 6-3. An unassisted goal by Ricky Lewis (Washington, NJ) made it a two-goal game with 2:52 remaining, but the Knights once again expanded the gap with a 7-4 score at halftime.

About halfway through the third set of 15 minutes, Brenden Fabin (Randolph, NJ) found Justin Perillo (Jackson, NJ) to be the score back down to a two-goal game.

Unfortunately, FDU-Florham scored their final goal in the third quarter, and Arcadia was able to find and take the opportunities to raise the score higher for a 13-6 overall MAC Freedom win.
Anthony Pieroni (Branchburg, NJ) (7-3) was seen in goal for the Devils as he dealt with a season high of 52 shots faced in the match up and accounted for a total of 13 saves.

As a team, FDU-Florham compiled 28 shots, 30 ground balls and won 8 face-offs.

Arcadia as a team generated 52 shots, 46 ground balls, and won 15 face-offs.

FDU-Florham now looks to Wednesday, April 9 at 7pm for its next MAC Freedom match up at DeSales.
