Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 26) - The FDU-Florham Women's Track and Field team competed in their final meet of the regular season in Wilkes-Barre, Pa as they participated in the King's College Monarch Open.
Seven runners competed for FDU in multiple events to begin the meet, including the Women's 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, and 400 Hurdles. In the 100m, Brianna Fenderson (Edison, N.J.) and Arianna Ronan (White Plains, NY) competed for the Devils. Fenderson finished on the podium in 2nd placed with a time of 13.77 while Ronan finished in 8th with a time of 14.70. In the 100m Hurdle, Alyssa Orio (Middletown, NJ) was the lone Devil to represent as she finished in 1st place on the podium (19.39). Fenderson and Bianca Burke (Bridgewater, N.J.) raced the 200m, with Burke finishing 2nd on the podium (26.53) and Fenderson in 6th (28.16). Kirushnavarshini Ranjan (Iselin, NJ) ran the 800m for the Devils, placing 9th with a time of 2:43.41. Ranjan, Julia Flynn (Manhattan, N.Y.), and Briella Bagnato (Allendale, NJ) competed in the final race for FDU as Rajan finished 8th (5:32.75) (PR), Bagnato in 9th (5:37.69), and Flynn in 13th (6:09.86) in the 1500m.
In Fields events, the Devils competed in the Hammer Throw, Discus, and Javelin. Brianna Flatt (Bridgewater, NJ) landed herself in 18th place for the Hammer Throw with a distance of 17.11m. Flatt, Irem Ucar (Parsippany, NJ), Flatt, and Gianna Chiffriller competed in the Discus Throw. Ucar landed herself in 12th place (28.00m), Flatt in 18th (18.55m), and Chiffriller in 19th (13.37m). For the Javelin, Sophia Navarro (Roxbury, NJ) represented the Devils finishing in 8th place with a distance of 19.44m.
FDU-Florham will next compete in the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 1-3 in York, PA. Events are set to begin at 2:00pm on May 1.
