Madison, NJ (April 19)- The FDU-Florham Men's Tennis team (7-6, 3-2 MAC Freedom) hosted the Stevens Ducks (9-7, 4-0 MAC Freedom) for a MAC Freedom matchup and unfortuanlly the Devils fell into the pond as they were served their first shutout of the season, 7-0.
Doubles #1 consisted
Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, NJ) and
Matthew Emery (Howell, NJ) working together to collect four points, but Stevens was able to reach 6 points to claim the match first. Sitting in Doubles #2 only one point was scored for the Devils as
Kelvin Liwag (Marlboro, NJ) and
Nick Weglinski (Wayne, NJ) were given the 6-1 loss, which resulted in Stevens taking the Doubles Set Point for the match.
Between all five Singles matches, only 8 points were accounted for from FDU-Florham. Emery in Singles #1 and
Chase Miller (Freehold, NJ) in Singles #5 both were only able to take one point from their opponents, as they both saw a 6-0, 6-1 score. Singles #2 and Singles #4 with Duval and Weglinski saw scores of 6-0, 6-2. Liwag in Singles #3 was the only player allowed to score a point in both sets, but he still received the loss by a 6-1, 6-1 score.
FDU-Florham will take a break from conference match-ups and travel to Wilkes on Monday, April 21 for a 3:30pm non-conference contest.
