Madison, NJ (April 15) – FDU-Florham Women's Tennis (1-11, 0-3 MAC Freedom) took on Stevens (7-6, 3-0 MAC Freedom) at their home courts. Unfortunately, they fell short, losing by a score of 4-0.
No doubles were played at this match, so both teams jumped straight into singles. Singles #1 took place with
Meliha Bektesevic (Wayne, NJ) taking on Aytekin Sude. Sadly, she lost by a score of 6-2, 6-1.
Ivonne Vargas fought Emma Eguia in Singles #2, but was beaten in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
Paula Vanegas (Guttenberg, NJ) battled Gigi Arenas, but was defeated by a score 6-0, 6-1.
Lindsay Sperling (Whippany, NJ) went last, but also put up the best fight, as in her Singles #4 match with Aliona Heitz, she put up more game points than anyone else on the Devils, but still fell by a score of 6-3, 6-2, cementing the 4-0 match loss for the Devils.
FDU-Florham will play the second game of three straight against King's on the road for more MAC Freedom on April 16
th. The first matches start at 3:00 PM.
