Two Hat Tricks Seen in Men's Lacrosse 14-3 Win at Mount Saint Mary

Newburgh, NY (March 19)- The FDU-Florham Men's Lacrosse team returned to the road for its next non-conference game of the season, against the Mount Saint Mary Knights and secured a 14-3 victory to keep the three-game win streak alive.


FDU-Florham (6-1) had two hat tricks into the contest that came from Jarrett Dugenio (Bridgewater, NJ) on 11 shots and Brenden Fabin (Randolph, NJ) on 10 shots and 1 assist.

Mount Saint Mary (2-5) had two players score and it was Larry Frank who had two of the three goals in the game.

 
FDU-Florham was out to a quick start as Dugenio put up the first goal within the first minute of the game. All turned quite until the last 2 minutes of the first quarter when the Devils expanded the score to a 3-0 lead.
 
The Devils owned the first 5 minutes of the fresh 15 by putting up another two goals, including Christopher Scheublin (Tappan, NY) who netted his first collegiate goal. Mount Saint Mary avoided the shutout with its first goal but was not able to add its second as FDU made it to its ninth goal by halftime, 9-1.
 
In the third set of 15 minutes, FDU-Florham proceeded to add an additional three goals and carried the momentum into the final quarter as they notched one more goal before the Knights' second goal with 9:30 remaining.
 
Each team was able to add one more goal before the time expired with a 14-3 win for the Devils on the scoreboard.
 
Despite being in goal for 45 minutes, Anthony Pieroni (Branchburg, NJ) (5-1) was not awarded the win with 3 saves. The victory belonged to Ben Weintraub (Clark, NJ) (1-0) who notched 5 saves on the day.

As a team, FDU-Florham compiled 49 shots, 25 ground balls and won 13 face-offs.
 
Mount Saint Mary as a team, generated 17 shots, 25 ground balls, and won 8 face-offs.

 
FDU-Florham will be back on Robert T. Shields Field for non-conference action on Wednesday, March 26 when they host Farmingdale State at 7pm.
