Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball Secured the Win Against Arcadia at their Final Home Game of the Season, 88-80

Madison, NJ (February 19) - The FDU Men's Basketball team won a close matchup against Arcadia for their last home game on Roger Kindel Court.

Francis Denvir (Holland Township, N.J.) led the Devils, scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Amir Williams (Bronx, NY) followed behind, scoring 14 points, and Jaqwan Washington (Bryan, TX) with 11.

The Arcadia Knights opened gameplay with a 10-7 run against the Devils. FDU remained close behind the Knights, reaching a score of 13-11 at the 13:38 time stamp. The Devils took the lead for the first time at the 11:34 minute mark with a 3-pointer from Ethan Klueh (Orlando, FL.), which brought the score to 17-15. The Knights and Devils went basket for basket, with FDU points coming from Carson Woods (Phoenix, AZ.), James Zingaro (Stratford, NJ), Christopher Smith (Florham Park, NJ), and Denvir, taking the score to 29-25, with 6:18 remaining in the half. The Devils maintained their lead with baskets from Washington, Williams, and Noah Pagan (Ringwood, NJ), ending the first half with a 10-point advantage against the Knights, 44-34.

Entering the second half, the Knights would have to gain enough offensive possession to take back the lead from the Devils they had early in the first. FDU opened the half with an 11-8 run against Arcadia with baskets by Adam Ziegler (West Grove, PA) and Williams, which brought the score to 46-42 at the 16:33 time stamp. The Devils held the lead against the Knights, not letting Arcadia come within a 5-point gap. With less than 10 minutes remaining, the score reached 60-50, an FDU lead. Ziegler, Washington, and Williams contributed 10 more points for the Devils, and Arcadia kept a steady distance, 70-60 with 5:38 left on the clock. FDU extended their lead, putting the Knights into a 13-point deficit, 78-65, with less than 3 minutes remaining. The Knights tried to close the gap, but the Devils' defense and offense continued to work together, and these efforts secured them an 88-80 win over Arcadia.

As a team, FDU-Florham shot 51.8 percent (29-56) from the floor, 33.3 percent (7-21) from three-point range, and 69.7 percent (23-33) from the free throw line. They totaled 40 points in the paint, 49 off the bench, and 20 off turnovers.
