MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils women's basketball team opened their 2025-26 season with a home win over the John Jay Blood Hounds, 62-54.

How it Happened
- John Jay opened play by taking an early lead over FDU, but points from Tighe, Sode and Walker took it to an even 10-10 at the 3:49 time stamp of the first period.
- A made jumper by Chapman brought the Devils to a 5-point lead entering the second period
- FDU kept up their offensive momentum going into the second, opening with a 4-2 run over the Blood Hounds
- John jay regained the lead for the first time since the beginning of the game at the 4:37 minute mark, 24-22
- FDU kept up with John Jay's scoring run but fell short by one point to tie before halftime, 30-29
- Tighe scored the opening point of the second half, taking the score to a 31-30 Devils led with 9:21 remaining in the period
- Points from Sode and Tighe helped widen the gap to 40-35 at the 3:57 minute mark
- FDU entered the fourth period with a commanding 10-point lead over John Jay, 49-39
- The Blood Hounds didn't put off the pressure as they came within 4-points of the Devils with 3:23 left in the game
- Chapman and Vazquez broadened the gap with a combined 7 points, 60-52
- Sode scored FDU's final points as her made layup brought the Devils to 62 points
The Devils will continue their season at home on Tuesday, November 11 as they take on Saint Elizabeth's for the Battle of Madison Ave. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM.
