Men’s Basketball Drops to Delaware Valley in Overtime, 67-73

Doylestown, PA (December 30) - The FDU Men's Basketball team traveled to Delaware Valley and fell to the Aggies in overtime.

The Devils were led by Adam Ziegler (West Grove, PA) totaling 16 points and 8 rebounds for the Devils. Following Ziegler was Mac Creek (Louisville, KY.) with 13 points and Carson Woods (Phoenix, AZ.) with 12.

The Delaware Valley Aggies opened the first half of gameplay with a 13-4 run over the FDU Devils. The Aggies continued to win offensive possession as they were up 17-12 at the 12:53 minute mark. The Devils answered the Aggies run by putting up 17 points with baskets from Jaqwan Washington (Bryan, TX), Woods, Creek, Ethan Klueh (Orlando, FL.), Noah Pagan (Ringwood, NJ), and Amir Williams (Bronx, NY). During this run, the Aggies only posted 7 points, putting the Devils in the lead, 21-20 at the 8:45 timestamp. The game was neck and neck with the remaining points for the Devils coming from Washington, Pagan, and Ziegler, ending the half with a close score of 31-32, Aggies lead.

The second half continued to be as close as the first, as the Aggies and Devils went basket for basket totaling an even 37-37 with 16:15 on the clock. Delaware Valley began to widen the gap, taking the score to 40-48 after an Aggies 3-pointer put them in the lead at the 12:02 timestamp. FDU started to close the gap and Ziegler sent the Devils back into the lead after a made layup at the 7:59 minute mark. The game remained so tight, with the Aggies taking the lead every time they scored, only for the Devils to immediately reclaim it with their points. The score was 63-60, Devils lead, but the Aggies got a shot off with less than 3 seconds left and pushed the game into overtime.

The Aggies opened overtime with a 9-0 run which put the Devils into a large deficit. Ziegler and Washington were the only Devils to score in overtime and it was not enough for the team to clinch the win. Ultimately, the FDU Devils fell 67-73 to the Delaware Valley Aggies.
