The Devils continued adding pressure when at 14:02, Toska drilled a ball straight into the post in a close chance for the Devils. FDU got the breakthrough goal at 24:37, when Montanile passed the ball to Kermalli, who dribbled in the box and slotted it past the keeper to give the Devils a 1-0 lead.
Just six minutes later, at 30:42,
Ferid Zaku (Wayne, NJ) found Toska on a through ball, and Toska danced his way around the keeper to find his first goal of the night and to make the score 2-0. Just before the half ended, at 42:48, a through ball found
Ryan Maguire (Toms River, NJ) , who passed it to his left and found
Landon San Martin (Boonton, NJ) , who rocketed it into the net to extend FDU's lead to 3-0. The score remained that way once the match hit halftime.
About three minutes after halftime ended, Montanile connected with Toska, who headed it into the goal for his second goal of the night, to give the Devils a commanding 4-0 lead. The Devils continued to bring shot after shot towards CCNY's net, and at 62:44, Toska got the ball off an errant pass, dribbled around a few CCNY players, and sniped the ball into the goal, completing a hat trick for himself and further increasing the Devils lead to 5-0. The score would remain that way until the end of the match, as the Devils picked a commanding win over CCNY.
Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ) saw one half of action, earning one save, while
Simon Yanez (Union, NJ) and
Victor Ciach (Ringwood, NJ) split action in the second half, with the former earning one save.
